Great Taste Less Filling

I know. I know. That's the oldest vampire joke in the world, but c'mon, the shoe fits so well. This last weekend was busy...and sweaty. Our air-conditioning went out Friday, Saturday, and again on Sunday (this time staying off through the weekend). We finally got A/C back again yesterday after 3 sauna-like sleepless nights. Woo-Hoo!

We made the most of it and spent a lot of time out n' about, hitting up the Cherokee National Holiday pow-wow in Talequah Saturday night, entertained in-laws for a while on Sunday, hit the River's Edge in Tulsa for some cold ones & live music Sunday night, and I even managed to squeeze in a couple games of frisbee golf over the long weekend.

I was looking at the Dfest comic from a few weeks ago and really liked having a background behind the skeeters. So, whenever possible (or if a situation warrants), I'll try to squeeze one in. This week, the setting is Cherry Street here in Tulsa. Behind the bartender is Kilkenny's Irish pub, and behind the thirsty skeeter patrons is the Coffeehouse on Cherry Street. For those not familiar with the area, they're right across the street from each other. So, this week's skeeters are drinkin' on some poor chap's arm who's outside on the corner grabbing a smoke.

Weigh in on this week's comic if ya wanna'. I put up a shoutbox over on the side of the strip. You just type in your name, website (optional), and a quick message, then hit the 'holla!' button. EZ does it!

On the iPod: listening to Odis, a band my friend Josh recommended. New TV on the Radio (can't wait 'til Dear Science drops), some Brightblack Morning Light, M. Ward, Tapes 'n Tapes, That Handsome Devil and The Gaslight Anthem are all in heavy rotation this week. Looking forward to movie club Saturday, maybe the Unforgiven Pay-Per-View Sunday night, and O'Reilly vs. Obama tonight! And that's all he wrote...this week.

Cheers,
Lee
